May 30 - June 1st HOW THEN SHALL WE LEND? - CHRISTIAN MICRO ENTERPRISE SUMMIT IN THAILAND.  - PATTAYA, THAILAND.
Why another conference on MED? Microenterprise Development is regarded by the secular world as one of the most effective ways to alleviate poverty in developing countries. However, in Christian circles, clear guidelines reflecting biblical norms and standards need to be generated. This conference is the first of its kind in that it will address issues specific to practitioners of Christian MED. A challenge has been issued to these organisations and serves as the primary purpose for this conference: How can we be successful in lending and yet be faithful to scripture in MED? Please join us as we pray through, discuss and ultimately answer this challenging question. To register please contact Renee Christensen, Conference Coordinator at reneec@opportunity.org.au  or register online at  http://welcome.to/med-christian-summit

June 24-27 The Convergence - a Global Leadership Conference. Thel focus will beon the conversation that must take place between the Church and the postmodern secular world. By definition, convergence occurs when people of different ideologies begin to approach the same point, even though they may be coming toward it from different directions, and engage each other in meaningful dialogue. This dialogue can change the world by aligning it more closely to God's will and God's Kingdom. As the church/secular conversation progresses, we will have ever-increasing opportunities to fulfill Jesus' promise to His first disciples in Matthew 4:19: "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

To learn more about the God-directed movement which we believe is leading to The Convergence, send for our free tape. There is absolutely no obligation. Phone 800-700-0605; fax: 707-578-1168 or email: info@theconvergence.org . The Conference is in Santa Rosa, CA from June 24-27, 1999. Visit http://www.theconvergence.org/  for more information.
