*1. THE GREAT BUSINESS & MISSIONS CONUNDRUM SOLVED! NOW ON LINE
I had an excellent response to the question about the ongoing tension between Business & Missions. "How are you INTEGRATING but keeping things DISTINCT?" I have posted the response to the Business and Mission Forum online which can be found at <http://www.scruples.org/Bizetmiz_Forum_toc.htm> «FIRST», Please drop by and add your own comments. If you dont have an Internet Connection send us an E-MAIL with the words CONUNDRUM REPLY in the Subject Field and we will send you a text file (20K) with the answers provided by our Readers.
2. TO BRIBE OR NOT TO BRIBE! WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
In the latest International Journal of Mission Frontiers one author makes the statement "Many seasoned veterans of cross-cultural living distinguish between extortion (demanding bribes) and bribery (paying them). The Bible appears to make the same distinction, uniformly condemning the practice of demanding bribes but virtually silent about paying them, except in the desire to get what one does not deserve." The writer goes on to tacitly accept the practice of local Christians paying bribes to ensure "promptness" What do you think? Would you pay a bribe to ensure "promptness" by a customs official for your business transaction? What does bribe paying do to our witness as Christians? What happens if the consequences of not paying a bribe bring harm to the local church or believers? «FIRST», How would you navigate this moral minefield? Please let me know and share any stories of faith in these situations. I would like to post your response at the Business and Missions Forum for others in similar dilemmas. Please let me know if you want to use just your initials to identify yourself. Thanks.

Tentmakers are professionals, skilled artisans, perennial students and others who use their professional, vocational or academic skills to support themselves while they share the Gospel of Jesus in parts of the world and to groups of people otherwise inaccessible to traditional mission approaches. The term "tentmakers" is taken from the Apostle Paul, who supported his own mission activity by making tents (Acts 18:1-4). The Seventh-day Adventist Church is launching out to the final frontier of World Mission, and is opening the door to large numbers of church members to become personally involved in this bold new approach.
There are numerous job opportunities. People in almost any profession or vocation may find excellent opportunities around the world with excellent pay and benefits. For further information on how you may participate in this bold new adventure in missions, visit
